The trailer of the much-awaited movie LAAL KABOOTAR is here and we can’t stop talking about it as it leaves a huge impact on the audience’s mind. Starring the talented Ahmed Ali Akbar & Mansha Pasha and releasing on 22nd March 2019, the film will mark Pakistan’s entry into the world of a crime thriller, something Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap is famous for.
The film’s trailer leaves the audience speechless for a few moments – some due to the language used in it and some due to the action sequences. For once we have a proper action film where when you fire a gun, it looks like you have fired a gun. The language has curses because the writer Ali Abbas Naqvi has shown the real Karachi where we can’t live without saying many four or six letter words. Then there are Ahmed Ali Akbar, Mansha Pasha, Rashid Farooqi and others who raise the performance level in whatever scenes they are in. You can also see Ishtiaq Rasool, Ali Kazmi, Mohammad Ahmed, and S M Jameel who make you watch them even though if they have minimum dialogues.
Director Kamal Khan must be commended for venturing into a territory where he knows that dialogues would be censored (with a beep), where many wouldn’t attempt to buy tickets due to violence and where people still prefer rom coms when you have so many topics to make a film on. What strikes the audience in the two-minute trailer is the fact that the color grades are kept in line with the plot; the cinematography is very nicely done especially the scenes that have been shot on locations.
The thriller music is fantastic and keeps you on the edge of your seat since it shows the dark side of Karachi. Yes, the content is for a mature audience but the way it has been executed looks super. The film is produced by Kamil and Hania Chima under the banner of Nehr Ghar films and is all set to release on March 22nd, 2019 where it will battle against Mikaal Zulfiqar and Armeena Khan’s Sherdil, and Humayun Saeed and Sheheryar Munawwar’s Project Ghazi.
