Contrary to popular belief, the first Bollywood actor to bag a role in a Hollywood film after leading ladies Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone is not a Khan but a Tripathi. You read that right, versatile actor Pankaj Tripathi is going to Hollywood and will be co-starring with everyone’s favorite Avenger Chris Hemsworth also known as Thor!
Tripathi has been a crowd puller for the last few years, during which he has wowed the audience with Fukrey, Newton, Bareilly Ki Barfi, Stree, Mirzapur, and Sacred Games. However, it is his performance in Gangs of Wasseypur that his fans consider the best. He will be joining fellow Indian actors Randeep Hooda and Manoj Bajpayee in Chris Hemsworth’s Dhaka which was recently filmed in Mumbai and Ahmedabad. Tripathi will join the cast in Bangkok, Thailand to shoot the next leg of the film.
On a professional front, the actor’s career is on a rise despite the fact that he doesn’t come from a filmi background. He has been around for over 15 years but it wasn’t till Gangs of Wasseypur where he played the role of Sultan that he became hugely popular around the world. The 42-year-old will be next seen with Ranveer Singh in the Kapil Dev biopic 83.
